Matt Drudge told top Donald Trump aide Steve Bannon on Election Day not to worry about exit polls showing Hillary Clinton with a lead, cursing out the corporate media as "wrong on everything," according to a new book.

In Devil's Bargain: Steve Bannon, Donald Trump and the Storming of the Presidency, author Joshua Green writes that Bannon was nervous about the polls the night of the election.

Bannon called Drudge, whose aggregation site Drudge Report is one of the most influential and highly trafficked sites in the world. Drudge told him to relax, the Hill reports:

Drudge's response to Bannon on the exit polling, according to the book, was: "F--k the corporate media. They've been wrong on everything. They'll be wrong on this."

Trump defeated Clinton on Election Day in a shocking upset, after winning a number of key states that polls showed him trailing in.

"Drudge was right. The corporate media blew it," Green wrote in "Devil’s Bargain."

In states like Florida, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, polls showed Clinton heading for victory, but Trump won them all and flipped a few other blue states from 2012 to shock the political world.
