Joy Behar Gets Frustrated With Pelosi's Reluctance on Impeaching Trump

June 5, 2017

"The View" co-host Joy Behar appeared annoyed with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) Monday for not being more enthusiastic about the prospects of impeaching President Donald Trump.

Behar, who has frequently called for Trump's impeachment since he took office, quickly broached the subject with Pelosi during the congresswoman's appearance on "The View." Although she is a vocal opponent of Trump, Pelosi has been a more restrained voice in her caucus on the subject.

Behar relayed that in former FBI Director James Comey's upcoming testimony, he would likely confirm reports that Trump had encouraged him to end the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's Russia ties.

"Is this a serious bombshell and is it grounds for impeachment?" Behar asked.

The rest of the panel laughed while Pelosi joked she knew Behar would get to that word eventually.

"When that word comes up, I always say to my colleagues in the Congress and my constituents and people across the country what I said before. Anything you do has to be based on data, evidence and facts," she said. "So, you can speculate, but it's got to be the law and the facts."

"But Trump already admitted on television that he said this to Comey, to please stop the investigation into Michael Flynn," Behar said, sounding frustrated. "He said it. What more proof do we need?"

Pelosi said the American people need "solid evidence."

"That's solid! It's an admission of guilt," Behar said. "What more do you need?"
