Republican Scott Brown has blasted opponent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D., N.H.), for her inaction on national security while serving in the U.S. Senate.
In an ad released Monday, the Republican tied Shaheen’s stance on national security to President Obama’s, while Brown, in his Army National Guard uniform, said he "knows what it takes to keep America safe."
The ad calls out Shaheen for missing a key Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing where lawmakers first heard of the threat from the Islamic State.
The Brown campaign has repeatedly criticized Shaheen for voting with President Obama 99 percent of the time and ignoring the interests of New Hampshire.
"Remember when Jeanne Shaheen said New Hampshire voters want an independent voice?" the ad asks.
Shaheen leads by four points in the most recent polls, though this race tightens as election day inches closer.
