Trump Ignores Reporter's Question on Transgender Military Policy

President Donald Trump ignored a reporter's question on Wednesday about his new policy on transgender people serving in the military.

The question came after Trump addressed the American Legion Boys Nation and the American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation, Politico reports.

"Mr. President, how did you decide your policy on transgender people in the military?" the reporter yelled over the crowd.

Trump did not engage her directly, but shook his head.

"She's very rude," Trump could be heard telling the assembled children.

Trump announced the new policy, which overturns Obama administration directives, on Twitter on Wednesday.

Transgender individuals will not be allowed to serve in the U.S. military "in any capacity," Trump wrote. The ban on transgender people serving had only been lifted in June of 2016.
