Trump on Holocaust Deniers: They're 'An Accomplice to This Horrible Evil'

President Trump castigated Holocaust deniers during remarks Tuesday commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day, saying they are an "accomplice" to the mass slaughter.

Speaking at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., Trump memorialized the late Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel and said it was humanity's duty to never forget the Nazi regime's crimes.

Today, the president said, there are some who want to forget the past or even erase the event from history.

"Those who deny the Holocaust are an accomplice to this horrible evil," he said. "We'll never be silent. We just won't. We will never, ever be silent in the face of evil again."

Trump called Holocaust denial one of the "many forms of dangerous anti-Semitism" all over the world.

"We've seen anti-Semitism on university campuses, in the public square, and in threats against Jewish citizens," he said. "Even worse, it's been on display in the most sinister manner when terrorists attacked Jewish communities, or when aggressors threaten Israel with total and complete destruction. This is my pledge to you: we will confront anti-Semitism."
