MSNBC Host Reacts to GOP Senate Health Care Group: 'Wow, 13 Dudes'

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle spoke derisively Tuesday of the "13 dudes" in the Senate working on a health care bill.

The Republican-led House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act last week as a means of repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The Senate is writing its own bill, however, that may keep some of the provisions of Obamacare in order to pass it.

A working group led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) is meeting each week to find a bill that will get 51 votes and see what it can retain from the House version. All members of the group are men.

Ruhle led into an upcoming segment about the health care debate before going to a commercial.

"We're going to talk about those 13 senators meeting today to decide the fate of Republicans' plan to repeal and replace Obamacare," Ruhle said, showing a screenshot of the 13 senators' profiles. "Look at that shot right there. Wow, 13 dudes."

Among the dudes are Sens. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), Cory Gardner (R., Col.), Lamar Alexander, (R., Tenn.), Mike Lee (R., Utah), and Tom Cotton (R., Ark.).
