Harrington: Trump Likely to Win Travel Ban Appeal if Taken to Supreme Court

Washington Free Beacon reporter Elizabeth Harrington said Tuesday on Fox News that the Trump administration would likely win an appeal of the president's travel ban case if it reaches the Supreme Court.

"The Trump administration has a tremendous case and is likely to win on the merits," Harrington said on "Fox & Friends First." She noted that the Supreme Court would likely rule in favor of Trump regardless of whether his nominee to the high court, Judge Neil Gorsuch, is confirmed by the Senate.

Trump's travel ban temporarily limits immigration from six Muslim-majority countries over terrorism concerns and halts America's refugee program for 120 days. The order has faced several legal challenges and is expected to eventually make its way to the Supreme Court.

Harrington rebuffed Hawaii and Washington state for challenging Trump's controversial executive order.

Altering the president's national security powers based on previous campaign statements would set a "dangerous precedent," according to Harrington.

"I don't think the Supreme Court wants to go there, and history shows that the president has been afforded a wide range of national security powers," Harrington said.
