Trump on Poor 'Apprentice' Ratings: Say a Prayer for Arnold Schwarzenegger

President Trump delivered remarks on Thursday morning to the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., where he told the crowd to say a prayer for Arnold Schwarzenegger after the ratings for his reality television show, "The Apprentice," have diminished.

Trump began by thanking "The Apprentice" executive producer Mark Burnett, who gave Trump's introduction, and joked about how he fired an agent who told him that his show would never be successful.

"We had tremendous success on "The Apprentice," and when I ran for president, I had to leave the show," he said. "That's when I knew for sure I was doing it. And they hired a big, big movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to take my place, and we know how that turned out. The ratings went right down the tubes, it's been a total disaster, and Mark [Burnett] will never, ever bet against Trump again."

Trump then invited the crowd to say a prayer for Schwarzenegger and the future of the show.

Ratings have gone down since Trump left the show. When Trump was the host of "The Celebrity Apprentice," the show drew 6.31 million viewers, compared to 4.95 million viewers this season under Schwartzenegger, according to Vox.
