News of the Rev. Billy Graham's death has been greatly exaggerated.
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow apologized Thursday for declaring Graham, who is one of the most recognizable religious figures in American public life, dead.
"I have an important correction that I mean sincerely," Maddow said penitently. "Near the start of the show, I referred to the late Reverend Billy Graham. That was wrong. He's very much alive and kicking. He's 96 years old."
"I'm sorry about the mistake," Maddow continued. "I don't even know how I made it."
