One of the most memorable figures featured in the new documentaries on the failed Fyre Festival joined Instagram on Thursday. His first post was a picture of him with Democratic senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who recently announced her run for president.

Andy King, who viewers of the Netflix documentary will remember as the producer who was willing to give oral sex to a customs agent to save the festival, wrote on the social media site that "Kirsten Gillibrand is a total inspiration."

King had worked previously with Fyre's CEO and founder Billy McFarland, who is currently in prison on charges related to the festival. It is McFarland who requests that King perform oral sex on a customs agent to allow a shipment of water to be let through to the island, according to the story told on the documentary. In the end, no sexual acts were performed.

It is unclear when the picture with Gillibrand was taken. Gillibrand's Senate office did not immediately return a request for comment on her relationship with King.

King's venture onto Instagram appears to be an effort to capitalize on his new-found notoriety. His biography on the site lists him first and foremost as a "Fyre Festival survivor" and the "ultimate team player."

His new account was promoted by James Ohliger, another figure in the documentary.

"I don't have any cash, but you know I'd do anything for this," King says with a wink in a video posted by Ohliger.

The Washington Free Beacon reported on Friday that there was significant involvement in the festival by political donors.
