A massive blue whale was spotted off the coast of Monterey, California on Sunday.
During a broadcast of the BBC show Big Blue Live, a rare blue whale was spotted by helicopter. The show's host Steve Backshall excitedly cuts his live interview short once news of the whale reaches him in order to see the huge whale for himself.
"I don't believe what I've just heard!" Blackshall said. "This is incredible!"
The size of the Blue Whale dwarfs even the largest Great White Shark ever found.
"The largest animal ever known to have lived on our planet," Blackshall said. "Larger than any of the dinosaurs."
"Some of these Blue Whales have been the size of a jet plane without its wings."
