Your Complaints About Gender Disparities in Comic Book Costuming Are Invalid

A sexy Loki? Sure, why not. Better her than Tom Hiddleston

I've covered previously my annoyance with the silly complaint that women are unfairly singled out for objectification by comic books' gods of costuming. It's not like dudes are drawn as unattractive dolts. It's simply a fact that what looks good on men is not necessarily the same as what looks good on women.

As if to prove my point, the kind folks at Uproxx juxtaposed the following two images in their day two roundup of cosplayers at this year's San Diego Comic Con. First up was this collection of feminist allies embarrassing themselves for the cause:

Uproxx's genius compiler immediately followed that horror show with this divine image:

The lesson, such as there is one, is simple: comics are projections of fantasy, and men and women look like fantasies in different garb. To act as if this is some sort of slight is to ignore reality. Sorry folks: Your complaints about gender disparities in costuming are invalid.
