American athletes continue to enjoy unprecedented success under President Donald J. Trump. It's just one example of the myriad ways our current commander in chief has delivered on his promise to make our Country great again. Thank you!
Even in soccer, an antiquated sport characterized by low scores, a tolerance for ties, and exorbitant whining often accompanied by feigned-injury theatrics, the United States has been punching well above its weight thanks to President Trump's leadership.
The USA men's team, for example, secured a laudable second-place finish in the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament on Sunday, following a gutsy performance in a 1-0 loss to Mexico. The Americans were underdogs going into the contest, but managed to defy the odds and cover the spread in Vegas. Several American players nearly scored goals on a number of occasions throughout the hard-fought contest. The result is an encouraging sign as the U.S. men prepare to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
USA men weren't the only ones celebrating on Trump's watch over the weekend. The American women's team also achieved success at a tournament in France, beating the Netherlands 2-0 in a match they were heavily favored to win. President Trump was among the first to congratulate the women's team on their successful result. "Great and exciting play," the president wrote on Twitter, the popular social networking website. "America is proud of you!"
