Matthew Dowd, the former Republican strategist turned mainstream liberal pundit, constantly preaches about the need for more love and kindness in politics but is occasionally forced to apologize for making derogatory remarks about female members of Congress.
Dowd had some thoughts on sexism amid the recent Democratic primary spat between Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.). Sanders has been accused of sexism for allegedly telling Warren in a private meeting that a woman could not win a presidential election.
Per Dowd's expert analysis, Sanders could definitely prove he is not a raging misogynist by not running for president against a female candidate.
You know one clear way to demonstrate that you believe a woman can and should be president? Don’t try to defeat a woman running for President.

What I find fascinating is that he keeps trying to defeat women running for president.

This is, indeed, a fascinating take, one that implicitly ensnares former president Barack Obama in the Democratic Party's cult of misogyny. Obama, who recently claimed that women are "indisputably" better than men, was the first male rival to smash Hillary Clinton's dream of becoming the first female president in American history. Hillary, in Obama's own words, was "likable enough," but that didn't stop him from promoting sexism by running against her.
