In 1986, Pantene used model Kelly LeBrock in an advertising campaign to unveil the company's new tagline, "Don't hate me, because I'm beautiful," as she lauded the products' benefits to women's hair. Pantene, however, has since taken a different tack in advertising. In 2019, Pantene released a commercial replacing the once well-known slogan with "Don't hate me because I'm androgynous."
