FoxNews.com received more page views in January than CNN.com for the first time ever.

The Fox News website garnered 1.43 billion multi-platform page views in January, according to a network news release, edging out CNN's website by 21 million views. TV Newser noted that CNN had more than 1.69 billion views when including the network's business and international platforms.

According to the Fox News release, January marked FoxNews.com's best month ever and was a 22 percent increase over its January 2017 viewership.

Fox News Channel's news president, Jay Wallace, congratulated his team for the feat.

"FoxNews.com has reached new heights with its digital presence by setting records in time spent on our digital platform to engage our viewers online," he said in a statement. "We have always had the most loyal audience and are now pleased to say we have the most engaged online viewership as well. Congratulations to our dedicated team for overtaking CNN.com, despite their massive head start in digital, just as FNC surpassed CNN's on TV more than 16 years ago."

FoxNews.com finished No. 3 among online news sites with 88.9 million unique users, according to TV Newser, behind CNN.com and WashingtonPost.com, but ahead of NYTimes.com.
