Liberals cannot decide whether they hate or love Republican Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).
Earlier this week, left-leaning journalists and media personalities denounced McCain and said that he destroyed his legacy, but now they seem to have made a full, 180-degree turn.
Liberal were furious at McCain for his "yea" vote Tuesday on a motion to begin debate in the Senate on health care legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Some even asked how the 80-year-old lawmaker could vote for the motion after he was diagnosed with brain cancer last week.
Early Friday morning, however, liberals' attitudes toward McCain quickly changed to praising him as a "maverick" who saved his legacy. Why the sudden shift in opinion? McCain voted against the Senate Republican "skinny repeal" of Obamacare, and thus helped end GOP efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act in the Senate. Now liberals cannot stop praising the Arizona senator.
