First Lady Melania Trump and her son Barron will join President Donald Trump in the White House permanently next week.

Melania and Barron will move down to Washington, D.C. on June 14, Politico reports. The first lady and her son have stayed in New York City since the election so Barron could finish the school year there, and have occasionally visited the White House.

Melania's parents are also expected to be seen frequently in the White House, according to Politico. Viktor and Amalija Knavs have been living in Trump Tower in New York City, and will now spend considerable time in D.C. to help care for Barron. The Knavs frequently travel with the first couple to other Trump properties on vacation.

With her move to the White House, Melania will be able to fulfill more traditional first lady duties. First ladies play a large role in White House social functions, including hosting foreign leaders and dignitaries.
