MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell referred to Anita Hill's controversial testimony that Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her as "celebrated hearings" in a tweet promoting their interview earlier Tuesday.

Thomas was nominated to the Supreme Court by President George H. W. Bush in 1991. Hill became a national figure when she testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Thomas sexually harassed her while she worked under him at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Education.

Thomas staunchly denied Hill's charges, and he called the investigation into the allegations a "high-tech lynching." Despite the contentious hearings and explosive allegations, he was eventually confirmed by the narrow majority of 52-to-48.

Hill was praised as a warrior for women's rights in the workplace, while others criticized her for perceived holes in her story.

In their interview on Tuesday, Mitchell and Hill discussed how things had changed for women in the workplace since Hill's testimony, and she also weighed in on Bill O'Reilly, who was let go from his Fox News show last week after multiple allegations of sexual harassment were made against him.
