Rep. Nancy Pelosi's (D., Calif.) latest tweet proves she has not budged on her immigration stance after a mother's tearful plea to the California representative regarding sanctuary cities on Thursday.
In late January Nancy Pelosi appeared at a CNN town hall to answer questions from the audience. Laura Wilkerson, the mother of a boy who was brutally killed by an undocumented immigrant asked Pelosi a question regarding sanctuary cities.
Wilkerson wanted to know how her American son's life was expendable for an undocumented immigrant to have a nicer life.
Pelosi offered her condolences but assured Wilkerson that the illegal immigrants in sanctuary cities are not disobeying the law. She then asked Wilkerson if her son was killed in a sanctuary city, before asserting that the point of sanctuary cities is to ensure that police officers will not turn illegal immigrants over to Immigration Law Inforcement.
On Thursday, Pelosi tweeted out a photograph of herself with two undocumented workers saying she wants to fight Trump's anti-immigration agenda.
Let me be clear: US shouldn’t be separating families like Fatima & Yuneli's. W @NCLR's leadership, we'll fight Trump's anti-immigrant agenda pic.twitter.com/b9CSsuPcrJ
