ABC World News highlighted an awkward moment caught on a hot mic during Hillary Clinton and Al Gore's joint rally on Tuesday in Florida.
At the end of their joint appearance, Gore asked Clinton, "Want to do a hands-up?", referencing the familiar sight of political partners joining hands and raising them aloft to show unity.
"Yeah!" Clinton replied, and they clasped hands.
As they were both partners of Bill Clinton when he was president, Gore his Vice President and Hillary his wife, the two were rivals regarding policy and had a reportedly tense relationship. After the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Gore distanced himself from the Clintons during his failed 2000 White House run, and he didn't endorse Hillary Clinton when she first ran for president in 2008.
He also skipped this year's Democratic National Convention and has been almost completely invisible during this election cycle.
In addition to praising Clinton as the candidate who would fight climate change during the rally, Gore re-litigated the controversial 2000 election in Florida, where he narrowly lost the state and the presidency to George W. Bush after an extensive recount.
"Your vote really, really, really counts," he said.
