A would-be robber in Tulsa, Oklahoma, ended up running scared after an 84-year-old man prepared to "ventilate" him with his rifle, according local station News On 6.
"I pulled out my automatic and was getting ready to ventilate him," said Doug Jandebeur, who was approached from behind and struck in the face by the robber. "Once he saw my gun he decided to leave."
The robber first approached Jandebeur as he left his store for his truck. After punching Jendebeur, he moved towards the store where Jendebeur's wife was. That's when Jendebeur took out his gun and sent the man running.
Jandebeur added during the report that he has raced motorcycles since 1946 and survived multiple plane crashes.
He suggests that everybody be prepared for attacks like the one he protected him and his wife from.
"Anybody who doesn't arm themselves is asking for trouble," Jandebeur said.
