Ernst: We’re Going to Take Iowa By Storm

Joni Ernst, winner of the Iowa Republican Primary, appeared on Fox and Friends Wednesday to discuss her win, that infamous pig ad, and bringing effective change to Washington.

"We have got a long road ahead of us, but we had a great primary victory last night…We’re going to take Iowa by storm," Ernst declared.

Friends and foes of Ernst can agree on one thing: her recent ad, during which she boasts her talent of castrating pigs, has made quite the splash, prompting Ernst to explain her reasoning behind the commercial. "It’s a line that I had used in a debate last fall and we got such a great response from the audience that we though, you know, this is a great way to connect with Iowa voters, so we ran it as our first TV ad," she cheerily said.

Touching on more serious topics, Ernst expressed her concerns regarding the recent Bergdahl negotiation, administered by President Obama’s White House.

"I am relieved that we have a soldier that has been returned into U.S. hands. However, again, I do have very serious concerns about the precedence this sets," she said.

She was more direct about the Veterans Affairs scandal, calling for immediate action to be taken. "We have to start all over- top down," Ernst advised. She expressed her gratitude to our troops, telling Fox and Friends "I know the sacrifices our men and women face every day. We need to care for them as well as they have cared for us. We have got to do something immediately."

Ernst also advocated for a balanced budget amendment and pledged to work tirelessly for it. "We really do need to focus on a balanced budget amendment. let's live within our means. :et's make this happen," she said.
