NBC: Clinton ‘Resetting’ Her Campaign After Pneumonia Diagnosis

September 16, 2016

NBC’s Kristen Welker reported Friday that Hillary Clinton is "resetting" her campaign after being sidelined this week with pneumonia.

"Clinton resetting her campaign Thursday, following three days off the trail after being diagnosed with pneumonia," Welker said.

"Even I had to admit that maybe a few days of rest would do me good," Clinton said on Thursday.

Clinton even played James Browns’ "I Feel Good" at the rally in North Carolina, an unsubtle message that she was improved from her illness.

Clinton also did a campaign "relaunch" in June of 2015 after the actual launch in April of that year. The Washington Free Beacon made a montage of reporters talking about the Democratic nominee, who has been in the public eye since 1992, trying to "reintroduce herself."

Welker added that Clinton tried to tout her "strength" after the "damaging optics" of her widely seen medical incident in New York on Sunday. She left the 9/11 memorial event there early, complaining of feeling overheated, and video showed her stumbling and nearly collapsing as she was helped into a van.

Her campaign revealed later on Sunday that she was diagnosed with pneumonia two days earlier, leading to renewed questions about her transparency and health.
