MSNBC Hits Trump With Snarky Chyron While He Touts 'Made in America' Week

MSNBC tagged President Donald Trump with a snarky chyron while he promoted "Made In America" week at the White House on Monday, writing in parentheses that his family's products are mostly made overseas.

At first, the chyron read, "White House Touts 'Made In America' Despite Trump Family Products Being Made Overseas," but it changed to, "Trump: Made In America 'Mean's It's The Best' (His Family's Products Are Mostly Made Overseas)."

"It's time for a new policy, one defined by two simple rules," Trump said during his remarks. "We will buy American and we will hire American."

The Washington Post reported that the Trump administration is promoting U.S. manufacturing this week, but the Trump Organization outsources much of its product manufacturing to countries like Bangladesh, China, and Mexico.

CNN has also used parenthetical, "fact-check" chyrons on Trump in the past, such as writing "(He's Not)" as an addendum to Trump saying Barack Obama was the founder of the Islamic State.
