MSNBC expert Dr. Dave Campbell said Friday on Morning Joe he would give Obamacare a "D" grade and that more problems will affect the health insurance markets.
Campbell was asked about the Obamacare markets in the wake of health insurance giant Aetna pulling its business from 70 percent of the counties in the United States because of the financial losses it was suffering.
Campbell said the problem with Obamacare is the rules that are artificial to the industry.
"And artificial to the market, right?" host Joe Scarborough said.
"To the market," Campbell said. "So, they have to charge as if there are no pre-existing issues and they have to pay irrespective of that, so they’ve created an artificial system and we’re seeing it fold like a house of cards."
Morning Joe panelist Donny Deutch then asked Campbell to grade Obamacare.
"Give Obamacare a grade from a doctor’s point of view," Deutch said.
"I’ve downgraded it to a ‘D.’ It had a passing grade before we knew it was going to fold," Campbell said. "Now it’s getting worse and worse."
"Three out of five, think of it that way, three out of five insurers are pulling back," Campbell said. "That leaves two out of five that have not yet, probably will."
