Patricia Smith, the mother of an American killed in the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, claimed that Hillary Clinton’s leadership "kills people" in a Monday interview with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin.
Baldwin asked Smith what this election should be about.
"What should this election be about?" Baldwin asked. "What is America about?"
"It should be about honesty," Smith said.
Smith spoke about the traumatic aftermath of her son’s death during the Benghazi attack. She said that many of the things she was told by the U.S. government about the attack had been false, and claimed that Clinton had not followed through on a promise to give her information about her son’s death. Clinton was secretary of state during the Benghazi terrorist attack.
"The government never got back to me like they promised," she said. "Hillary promised she would get back to me and tell me what happened. I don't know why my son is dead. I don't know why he was there and I was told I am not a member of the immediate family and I do not deserve to know."
Smith said she is still waiting for answers about decisions Clinton made in the months before the attack.
"I want answers and I want answers about why my son is dead and why she made the decisions that she made," she said. "I don't like her decisions."
Smith said Clinton would not be a good president because of the bad leadership she exhibited as secretary of state.
"She kills people," she said.
