Kid Rock may be running for the U.S. Senate, according to a new campaign website.
The longtime rapper and singer-songwriter, (a.k.a. Robert James Ritchie), tweeted a link to the site, kidrockforsenate.com, on Wednesday afternoon.
"I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real," he wrote. "The answer is an absolute YES."
"Stay tuned, I will have a major announcement in the near future - Kid Rock," he wrote.

It is not clear whether Ritchie is actually planning a Senate run, or even where he would run. He is a native and current resident of Michigan, where Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D.) is up for reelection in 2018. He also owns property in Tennessee.
No campaigns associated with either Kid Rock or Robert James Ritchie are currently registered with the FEC.
This is far from Kid Rock's first foray into politics. In March, he launched a "buy America" campaign in which he blew up cheap, Chinese-made grills. And in April, President Donald Trump, who Kid Rock campaigned for, invited him to the White House, along with Ted Nugent and former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
