White House counselor Kellyanne Conway's husband lambasted President Trump's tweets about his revised travel ban, writing Monday that it would do him no favors at the Supreme Court level.

George Conway's tweet came after his wife made multiple television appearances Monday morning on behalf of Trump, coincidentally chastising the media for being too obsessed with Trump's Twitter habits.

"These tweets may make some ppl feel better, but they certainly won't help OSG [Office of the Solicitor General] get 5 votes in SCOTUS, which is what actually matters. Sad," he tweeted, according to the Hill.

George Conway, who works as an attorney at the New York law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, withdrew his name from consideration last week to become the Justice Department's civil division chief.

Washington Post reporter Matt Zapotosky confirmed the author was the same George Conway.

Trump criticized his own Justice Department on Monday for submitting a "watered down" version of his original executive order for review by the Supreme Court, although Trump signed the revised travel ban as well. Both orders have been blocked by the courts.

Conway clarified that he remains a stronger supporter of Trump following reports on his original tweet. He stressed that tweets on legal matters "seriously undermine Admin agenda and POTUS" and his supporters need to not "be shy" about saying so.
