Former Democratic National Committee chairman Ed Rendell said Monday on MSNBC that Hillary Clinton’s joke about her private email server was "tone-deaf."
The Clinton campaign has struggled on how to handle the Justice Department investigation into Clinton’s private email activity. Clinton herself has made several jokes about the issue to poor reviews.
Rendell said the Clinton campaign has not done a good job on the management of the email story.
"The campaign did not do a good job. The joke the secretary made was tone deaf," Rendell said. "Why they thought this was a time to joke about this is beyond me."
