The Navy released raw footage of its first U.S. airstrikes on ISIL targets in Syria, which began Tuesday morning.
Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby announced that the new offensive included fighter, bomber and Tomahawk Land Attack missiles.
The U.S. Defense Department also confirmed that Arab coalition partners Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates were "full participants" in the air campaign, but declined to detail their specific roles in the airstrikes.
The footage shows guided missiles being launched from U.S. Naval ships, including the USS Arleigh Burke in the Red Sea. Naval rockets were supplemented by strikes from fighter jets on the ISIL stronghold of Raqqa in Northern Syria.
