A new CBS/New York Times poll found that 57 percent of Americans do not think President Obama has been tough enough while dealing with the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIS or ISIL).
Only 41 percent approve of his handling of terrorism, a 12-point drop since March.
His approval rating dropped among both Republicans and Democrats.
"That is a new low for this poll," CBS's Charlie Rose said.
This is yet another in a series of dismal poll numbers for the president, while other polls have found a majority of voters believe he has weakened America and has been too cautious in foreign policy.
