Gorka Blasts Fox News Guest as ‘Obnoxiously Obtuse’ for Criticizing Air Strikes Against Syria

Former White House deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka blasted a fellow Fox News guest for questioning the air strikes on Syria ordered by President Donald Trump Friday, calling him "obnoxiously obtuse."

Trump announced at the White House the U.S. had coordinated with France and Britain to attack Bashar al-Assad's chemical weapons capabilities after he carried out a chemical attack last week on the rebel-held suburb of Douma. A year ago, Trump also ordered a strike against Syria for a similar chemical attack.

On "The Ingraham Angle," military analyst Col. Douglas MacGregor called the situation "perplexing" and appeared to suggest the chemical attack the U.S. and its allies concluded occurred last week was fake.

"We see sarin and chlorine gas used together. That's never happened before. That's a first in the history of chemical warfare. Doesn't make any sense," he said.

MacGregor added the strikes were a "cosmetic attack" which would change nothing on the ground.

Several minutes later, Gorka said MacGregor was being "obnoxiously obtuse."

"This is a regime that has committed mass murder," he said. "His father was a mass murderer … The idea that this is irrelevant to America is so a-strategic, it beggars belief."

Gorka said the U.S. had to assert its "moral clarity," and, directly addressing MacGregor, he said he saw the intelligence of the chemical attack last April and knew it was executed by the Assad regime.

"Shame on you for questioning General [James] Mattis," Gorka said.

Gorka and MacGregor began jawing at one another directly over the intelligence over this and last year's chemical attacks, and MacGregor said he'd seen intelligence "manipulated" in the past.

"I think that President Trump needs to listen to the 50 million Americans who voted for him, and they didn't support this," he said.

"I'm glad you've made yourself the spokesman of 60 million Americans," Gorka said sarcastically. "That's very modest of you."
