Senate Republicans on Thursday released their own plan to reform the country's health care system, and Twitter users predicted that people will die as a result of it.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) introduced the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, legislation to replace the Affordable Care Act. The bill would eliminate Obamacare's taxes and individual and employer mandates in an attempt to lower premiums and out-of-pocket costs, according to McConnell.
The bill would also reduce spending for Medicaid by $800 billion over the next decade. In exchange, states get more flexibility over their own state Medicaid programs.
Social media erupted with claims that people will die if the Senate GOP's health care plan passes.

The GOP claims to offer choice. Their healthcare bill offers many people the choice between poverty and death. Or tax breaks if you're rich.

The GOP is FINE with poor people dying b/c of a lack of healthcare. This has been obvious forever and is by no means a hyperbolic claim. https://t.co/M2ZlPXCkz2

You or someone you love *will* suffer or die for lack of healthcare if this GOP bill passes. This is true regardless of politics. It's scary
