A Florida man attempted to rob a truck driver with a knife on Sunday only to find the driver was armed with a gun.

35-year-old Andy Louis Willis of Plantation, Florida tried to steal a 24-inch gold necklace from a man sitting in a Ford truck, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Willis threatened the man with a 6-inch long knife. The man complied with Willis's demand at first and removed his necklace.

However, the man then reached into his truck's console and pulled out a gun. Willis then took off running after the man pointed the gun at him. He hid in a restaurant at a mall in Lauderhill, Florida.

The truck driver called police and attempted to follow Willis into the restaurant but couldn't get in because the door was locked. Police arrived shortly afterwards and arrested Willis. He is being charged with armed robbery and is currently being held on a bond of $7,500.

There was no report on whether or not the truck driver was harmed during the incident or if he was licensed to carry a firearm.
