The Washington Post is continuing to run Russian propaganda in a paid section included in the newspaper that closely resembles the hard news pages.
The Post’s "Russia Behind the Headlines" section looks like normal news coverage but is marked in a small font: "A paid supplement to the Washington Post. This pull-out is produced and published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (Russia) and did not involve the news and editorial departments of the Washington Post."
The Post also publishes the propaganda vehicle Russia Now online and has long run news supplements containing Chinese government propaganda in its print edition.
The Post has maintained that there is no ethical issue with publishing Russian and Chinese propaganda in between its news pages.
