Gayle King: Nothing Could Make Clinton Voters More Enthusiastic Than Beyonce

November 4, 2016

CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King got quite excited Friday while discussing Beyonce and Jay Z rallying the millennial vote for Hillary Clinton later that day.

Beyonce will accompany her husband Jay Z while he performs at a get-out-the-vote concert for Clinton in Ohio on Friday. The concert is aimed to rally the millennial and African-American votes for Clinton, two groups with which the Democratic nominee has enjoyed less success than Barack Obama did in 2008 and 2012.

CBS' John Dickerson was discussing Clinton's need to garner enthusiasm from younger voters because "Donald Trump has the more roaring enthusiasm."

"The word enthusiasm, I don't think anything could make people more excited or enthusiastic than seeing Beyonce on stage with her husband," King said.

"Sure," Dickerson said. "They may get enthusiastic about seeing the two of them, but does that translate into a vote?"

The CBS panel laughed and began joking about Beyonce being at the concert.

"They have got to be showing up for more than the concert," co-host Anthony Mason snickered.

"No way they can actually bring one of those early voting booths into the concert," Nora O'Donnell said.

"Exactly, it's very hard to hold a concert in a voting booth," Dickerson added. "It's very constricting."

"But if they could, they would do it," O'Donnell said.

Katy Perry and John Legend are also slated to perform at the Ohio concert.
