WSJ Reporter: Some Dems 'Concerned' Over Clinton's Lack of Rationale to Run for President

January 16, 2015

Why is Hillary running for President?

That is the question that has many Democrat strategists are worrying about.

The fact remains that the Clinton campaign still does not have a good rationale for her to run for President. The lack of a story behind Clinton's candidacy is troublesome for many.

Wall Street Journal reporter Peter Nicholas said, "So what's the point of a Hillary Clinton presidency?"

David Axelrod, the mastermind behind the Obama campaign, has expressed a similar sentiment. The fact that Clinton has been preparing for a run at the presidency for such a long time, since she lost in 2008, makes her candidacy feel orchestrated and inauthentic.

Without an explanation for a reason to run, the impression of the Clinton campaign now is that she is running because it is her turn and she is sure to lock up the Democrat nomination.

If previous election cycles are any indication, just because you can win does not mean that you should run for president.
