President Donald Trump tweeted his support for his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after the close of the hearing on Thursday, calling his testimony "powerful, honest, and riveting."
He also used his tweet to condemn what the Democrats handling of the allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who came forward with her allegations in a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif), in July. Neither Feinstein nor her staff told Senate Republicans of the allegations or confronted Kavanaugh about the accusations.
"Democrats’ search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist," Trump tweeted.

President Trump has stood by Kavanaugh's nomination since the allegations by Dr. Ford and other women have come out. On Tuesday, he tweeted that Democrats were playing a "high level con job."
"The Democrats are playing a high level CON GAME in their vicious effort to destroy a fine person. It is called the politics of destruction. Behind the scene the Dems are laughing. Pray for Brett Kavanaugh and his family!"

Kavanaugh has categorically denied the allegations made against him by Ford and other women. He repeated his denial before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
"I'm here today to tell the truth. I've never sexual assaulted anyone, not in high school, not in college, not ever," Kavanaugh said.
Kavanaugh echoed Trump's sentiments about the allegations against him being a ploy by Democrats to stall his nomination.
"Since my nomination in July, there has been a frenzy on the left to come up with something, anything, to block my confirmation," he said.
