A host of the liberal talk show "The View" lamented Tuesday that the U.S. may be viewed globally as "a clown by association" because of President Trump's unpopularity abroad.
Sunny Hostin, during a discussion of Trump's first trip abroad that included criticism of NATO allies for not meeting defense spending obligations, said that Trump was looked at as a "clown" by other world leaders.
"We're talking about his reluctance to engage with NATO," she said. "We're talking his sale of weapons to these countries. We're talking about climate change, because that is extremely important ... More importantly, the other governments, the other leaders think he's a clown, and they think we're a clown by association."
"The View" audience, which applauds easily, applauded.
Earlier in the clip, Joy Behar got annoyed at Jedediah Bila for saying Trump won the election. She snapped that "he did not win," which is incorrect. The crowd applauded her, however.
