Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer trolled Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) on Twitter over the weekend after she said that Vice President Mike Pence is planning his own presidential inauguration.
Waters, a vocal opponent of President Donald Trump who has repeatedly called for his impeachment, alluded to Pence succeeding Trump as president, tweeting that Spicer and former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus will lead the transition.
Mike Pence is somewhere planning an inauguration. Priebus and Spicer will lead the transition.

Spicer responded to Waters the next day, writing that would not happen until after the 2024 election, when Trump would have served his maximum two terms in the White House.
Spicer said that if Pence were to run for office, he would "proudly play any role he asks."
"Good to know you have already conceded that," Spicer added.
