Actress Scarlett Johansson is pondering a future run for public office, shifting her career from the big screen to the world of politics.
The Hollywood star told television personality Michael Strahan on Thursday that she has "always been interested in local politics" during an interview promoting her upcoming movie, Ghost in the Shell.
"Right now I think with my young daughter, and also as my career is going right, it's not the right time," she said. "But eventually, maybe if my daughter was older and I could totally focus myself on something like that, I think it could be interesting."
Johansson, an avid Hillary Clinton supporter, spoke at the Women's March on Washington in January and addressed President Donald Trump directly.
"I didn't vote for you," she said. "But I want to be able to support you. But first I ask that you support me."
The Hollywood A-lister played Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, during a recent skit on "Saturday Night Live." The skit was about a perfume called "Complicit, the fragrance for the woman who could stop all this, but won't."
Johansson spoke to delegates at the 2012 Democratic National Convention and would presumably run as a Democrat for any future political campaign.
