Scarborough: 'Hatred,' 'Animosity,' 'Rage' Between Clintons and Obamas

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough remarked Wednesday on the "animosity" between the Clintons and the Obamas: "People forget how much hatred, how much animosity, how much rage there was between these two families," he said, harking back to the 2008 presidential campaign.

Although Clinton and Obama worked together in the White House for a period of time, as Clinton gears up for a likely 2016 campaign, she has returned to her old Obama-bashing ways, making headlines for criticizing Obama's foreign policy.

"The bitterness runs deep. It looks like it's spilling out," Scarborough said, recalling that, in their campaign days, the Obama camp once suggested that the Clintons were racist.

"Certainly bitterness, a lot of acrimony in that campaign," agreed Bloomberg's John Heilemann.

Heilemann added his own memories of Obama-Clinton fights, including Clinton endeavoring to paint Obama as a drug dealer.

"A lot of the old enmities on both sides are very quickly bubbling to the surface," said Heilemann.
