A DNA test revealed Hunter Biden to be the father of an Arkansas baby he previously said was not his, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
The test established Biden, the son of former vice president Joe Biden, as the father of the child "with scientific certainty," according to a motion filed in court Wednesday by the child's mother, Lunden Alexis Roberts.
Biden has denied having sexual relations with Roberts, who filed a paternity suit against Biden in June. Roberts said she was in a relationship with Biden and had their child in August 2018. She has asked Biden to begin paying child support.
Biden is not expected to challenge the results of the test, according to the Wednesday court filing.
The lawsuit came just a week after Biden secretly married Melissa Cohen, a South African woman he had met only weeks earlier.
Biden and his first wife had three children together, but the marriage was derailed due to his drug use and excessive spending on prostitutes, his wife said in divorce filings.
Biden's attorney Dustin McDaniel, a Democrat who was formerly Arkansas attorney general, did not respond to a request for comment on the test results.
McDaniel's political career was coincidentally also derailed by a 2012 paternity lawsuit that revealed an extramarital affair he was having with an Arkansas lawyer. The resulting scandal, complicated by a murder that occurred at her home, forced him to end his campaign to be Arkansas governor.
Former vice president Biden now has six known grandchildren. President Donald Trump's reelection campaign quickly congratulated Biden on the news, which came on his 77th birthday.
Biden will take to the debate stage tonight in Atlanta as he fights to win the Democratic presidential primary.
