Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) will roll out a 2014 campaign video Thursday morning.
According to the McConnell campaign, political filmmaker Lucas Baiano, who has worked for several presidential campaigns, including Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Tim Pawlenty, and Rick Perry, produced the video.
The McConnell campaign also recently hired seven field staffers and has $8.6 million on hand, an aide said.
McConnell is a top target for Democrats in the 2014 cycle, but they have yet to announce an opponent.
Hollywood actress Ashley Judd briefly considered running against McConnell but ultimately begged off. Eyes have turned to Democratic Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Ludergan Grimes, whose family is tied to the Clintons.
On Wednesday, former Rep. Gabby Giffords’ gun-control group rolled out a radio ad attacking McConnell for his votes on gun legislation.
A progressive group secretly recorded a McConnell campaign meeting in April and leaked the audio to Mother Jones magazine, hoping to embarrass the campaign. The attack backfired after the McConnell campaign demanded an investigation and the official with the Progress Kentucky Super Pac who made the recording resigned.
