The Democratic candidate running to fill the seat vacated by Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price in Georgia's sixth congressional district had a privileged upbringing, according to new reports.

Jon Ossoff, a 30-year-old who won 48 percent of the vote in Georgia's recent special election, is worth $1.7 million and is a "child of privilege," the Dunwoody Crier reported on Tuesday.

"His family has a yacht and a Cessna, the latter purchased through a limited liability company using a relative's address in New Hampshire, one of a handful of states that don't charge sales taxes on airplane purchases," the report reads.

The young Democrat raised 95 percent of his $8.4 million campaign funds from outside Georgia. Although he was born and raised in the sixth congressional district, his current residence is just outside of the district. Ossoff also owns a town house in Washington, D.C., where he attended Georgetown University.

He will face Republican Karen Handel in a runoff election on June 20.
