The Trump administration released its budget for the federal government on Thursday, and liberals have not been shy expressing their contempt for it.
President Trump's budget prioritizes spending on defense and veterans while it cuts funding to domestic government programs. The Pentagon would receive a $54 billion increase in funding, while funding to the Environmental Protection Agency would be slashed by 31 percent. The budget also proposes to end funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which includes National Public Radio.
The Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney has called the plan the "American First" budget. Liberals do not agree, however. Many took to Twitter to voice their opposition to Trump's budget.
Stop calling it a budget.
It's a kill list. #trumpbudget— Dan Fagin (@danfagin) March 16, 2017
Seriously, what kind of person wakes up in the morning thinking, let's cut Meals on Wheels! And Sesame Street!!? Unreal. #TrumpBudget

Donald Trump's budget, which was released just minutes ago, is the most inhumane and disgusting federal budget proposed in our lifetime.

New York Times columnist Charles Blow wondered what "monster" could have proposed this type of budget.

"Stark Trek" star and prominent liberal George Takei told his followers that Trump will destroy the world, and implored the states who voted for Hillary Clinton to "resist."
Trump's budget cuts the State Dept and EPA by 30 percent--because why strive for peace or stop polluters in a world you're going to destroy?

Trump's budget cuts 3200 EPA workers but adds 1500 ICE agents. America will be getting dirtier and nastier in many ways. Blue States: RESIST

Another New York Times columnist, Nicholas Kristof, believes the budget will usher in the dark ages.
Reading through the Trump budget, I feel as the Romans must have felt in 456 AD as the barbarians conquered and ushered in the dark ages.

Former presidential candidate Ralph Nader called Trump's budget the "Death Star" budget. There are no funds in Trump's budget for the construction of the Death Star, but if there were, the Washington Free Beacon would support it.
Tomorrow Trump unfurls his brutal and wasteful Death Star budget which will cause loss of life here and abroad. Americans will stop it.-R
