Hillary Clinton Supporters Shocked By Her Gender Pay Gap Hypocrisy

Free Beacon report pushes Clinton supporters to reconsider

May 11, 2015

Hillary Clinton supporters were shocked to hear she paid women working in her Senate office less than she paid men, and many even said the fact makes them far less likely to vote for her.

The Centennial Institute interviewed Clinton supporters who believed that she was a "champion for equal pay" and presented them the findings of a Washington Free Beacon analysis that found that women working for Clinton made just 72 cents for each dollar earned by men.

For the most part, the reaction by supporters when confronted with the example of Clinton's hypocrisy was crickets—but some voiced their frustrations.

"That’s a tough situation," said one woman. "I think Hillary keeps finding herself in these awkward positions where things she says don’t match up with her actions."

"That makes her hypocritical," said another woman. "That makes me less likely to vote for her."

"Why are you trying to fight for something but you're not doing it," she said.

The Clinton campaign confirmed the findings of the Free Beacon analysis.
