Hillary Clinton was irritated by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's (D., Calif.) initial hesitance to endorse her during the Democratic primary elections, according to a hacked email released by WikiLeaks on Sunday.

Longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin sent an email to campaign chairman John Podesta in July 2015 saying that the Democratic nominee had asked for Pelosi's endorsement over her opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), the Associated Press reported.

The House Democratic leader "didn't say yes," Abedin wrote. "HRC said she felt it was a non-answer." Abedin offered to call Pelosi's top aide "to see what the deal is but she wasn't prepared for that answer."

Pelosi ultimately endorsed Clinton in June on the same day voters hit the polls in California and she virtually sealed up the party's nomination.

WikiLeaks has released thousands of emails hacked from Podesta's private Gmail account over the past month. The U.S. government in October formally accused the Russian government of hacking into political networks to influence the 2016 election.
