Eva Longoria: The Cougar Strikes Back

Eva Longoria’s role as a matchmaker was short-lived after NBC canceled her dating show Ready for Love after only two episodes due to low ratings. The show may not have been a total loss for the 38 year-old Lay’s spokeswoman who has recently been spotted getting cozy with one of the show’s contestants, Ernesto Arguello.

Longoria has been "ready for love" herself since her second marriage to Spurs point guard Tony Parker ended in a very publicized divorce in November 2010. It became clear that the desperate housewife was unable to keep Parker from cheating with his former teammate’s wife, Erin Barry.

Life & Style magazine confirmed Monday that Longoria and Arguello are an item. "Yes, they are dating, but it is very new," a source close to Eva exclusively confirmed to Life & Style. "She enjoys his company and thinks he is a great guy."

Longoria took to her Twitter page to deflect rumors of her budding romance with Arguello tweeting:

"WHAT?! AGAIN? Sorry guys, still not dating @ernestoarguello Who are these "sources"??

Amid speculation of an ongoing romance, Longoria was all smiles while snuggled up next to Arguello Tuesday night during the show’s watch party at the actress’ Hollywood restaurant Beso. A source told E! News Online that Arguello and Longoria "seemed to have great chemistry and seemed to be sharing a lot of inside jokes" and that "they looked very cute together."

Not only is Longoria wining and dining the contestants, she is taking a page out of Hugh Hefner’s playbook and cohabitating with them in her LA home. TMZ reported that both Arguello and contestant Tim Lopez of the Plain White T’s have been staying at her pad.  A source close to the matter says that Longoria is just putting the cast members up in their home because they need a place to stay in LA.

Longoria came out last cycle as one of Obama’s biggest supporters and has partnered with Henry "The Fox" Munoz to create the Futuro Fund. It is unclear if Longoria’s latest fling will help with her political activity.
